Sorry...It's been a while!

Hey ya'll! Sorry it's been a while! Life has been B.U.S.Y! I don't even know where to start! I'm just going to go through all the Iphone photos and start from there! So here is our trip we took to San Antonio!

{March 7th - 9th, 2013}

Nick and I decided to take a little road trip down to San Antonio. We had never been there before and I've always wanted to see the River Walk. We both kind of felt bad for leaving our boy because his 1st birthday was Thursday the 7th! We got him a few gifts before leaving town and what dog doesn't want to go play with their friends for a weekend?! He got to stay at the Dude Ranch, which he loves!
What dog doesn't love a new bone?!

This was NOT his favorite!

Ahh! He's so big now. :(

He loves his giraffe so much that he had destroyed his old one. So we got him a new one!

Back to the road trip! On the way down we stopped in Fort Worth to see Dustin and Amanda. (She had clinical and school stuff so she didn't come out for dinner. Completely understand!) So, we met Dustin for dinner and drinks! It was SOO great to see him, and for Nick to get some 'man time' in! He never gets to see his buddies anymore. They all moved away from us. :( We stayed the night there and headed out early the next morning.

Anybody that knows Nick and I know that we don't go anywhere on the road without the essentials!

The boys!

So we finally got to San Antonio about 1 Friday afternoon. We drove around to find a hotel, The Embassy Suites, one that Abbie recommended, and got settled in. This trip was kind of planned, but kinda not! We wanted to just wing it! So we hadn't booked any hotels ahead of time. It was right on the river, had an amazingly free breakfast and a happy hour with free drinks and snacks! Can't go wrong there! Since we didn't book ahead of time we weren't able to get a river view but we had a nice room with a pretty view anyway.

Apparently this building used to be a brothel...it's now haunted.

The weather wasn't the best. It was just kind of overcast and a few showers here and there. Thankfully we never got rained on while we were out and about, it could have been much worse. We grabbed a map and headed out to see the River Walk!

It was sooo nice to see GREEN and flowers!

And our delicious lunch on the walk!

We did the whole boat tour thing, but I failed to get any pictures of that. The boat was packed and it was just kind of awkward. We got to learn a lot about the history of San Antonio, the river, and how it all came about. It was really pretty neat. Oh! And we stopped in and took in the beauty of this old cathedral. We then had a late lunch and headed back to the hotel to get ready for the Spurs game!

This was my first NBA game! I've got to be honest, for the money we paid, I would have MUCH rather have gone to KU's last home game. It was fun and all but NOTHING beats Allen Fieldhouse! Glad we went, but that will probably be my last.

Our seats were pretty legit!

So, they ended up losing. But, whatever! It was a good time anyway. The next day we ventured out to see what we could before we left that afternoon. Obviously, we went to the Alamo. Such an amazing place in history! It was rather busy, wish we could have gotten the little headsets that give the full story, but there was just too much going on! Apparently we had hit some of the spring breaks, so more people than we had expected!

And because we had nothing else to do we went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. It was pretty silly, and just kind of dumb, but we killed some time. And I took this creepy picture...

Oink, Oink?

We walked around the river for a while and stopped to have some Za. Go figure right?! We can't go a few days without it!

Our lunch view! This would never get old!

Back to the hotel we walked, not fun when you're full, we loaded up and headed out. The PLAN was to stay in Dallas or OKC and then finish the drive home on Sunday. We didn't want to do all 12 hours in one day, but that didn't end up happening! We drove right through Dallas....then through OKC. Nick said he wanted to stop on the outskirts of the city so we could get out at a decent time on Sunday. But, then he just keep going, and going and going! We did stop somewhere and eat some dinner and watch the KU game! :) I woke up at some point to him jamming out to techno music and realized I needed to stay wake and keep him company. We got home about 1AM Sunday. I was NOT a happy camper. My whole body hurt from sitting for so long. I have to be honest though, I was incredibly happy to be home in our bed Sunday morning.

Ahh! Bed time!
